Thanks 4thVariety.

I never participated in SC's but do use CoP from time to time on my mesmer when doing stuff with guildies.

I have mixed feelings about these kinds of skills and the social aspects of GW.
Sure, it's nice to play with randoms from time to time and I see a lot of advantage there. But back in the past, unless playing a specific area a lot, there was no real social aspect except teaming up once.
I met my guild in such an area but I was playing almost daily there and it wasn't very busy. In the true busy places back then teams were too random to actually get to know people.

Furthermore, as I mentioned somewhere else, it's hard to determine player skill in regular farming teams. I used to play the niche roles a lot so I had to know what I was doing. But being one of 4 or 5 damage dealers isn't rocket science.

I sometimes miss the regular social part of the game. Just jumping in something with random players.
But the current farming game has never been my thing.
People seem to have too much focus on profit (somewhat understandable bc of titles) and less on fun.
I've had countless party whipes in various elite areas and had a lot of fun about some of the things that caused it. And that fun part somewhere in 2007 or 2008 went down the drain, farming became serious business.

There have been talks going around about the devs changing wells so that they behave like wards where unexploited corpses aren't available. As a balance mechanism, they were allegedly adding health sacrifice if a well was used without a corpse nearby.

It seems to be that they've accidentally changed the text of wells in the patch but have chosen not to implement the actual changes at this time (or not at all.)

They get a B+ for the skill update in my books. Nerfing PS, LS, WK and VoR are all good changes, and hopefully there will be less hexway and crap running around in HA and GvG. Rits and Paras are still not really useful in PvP. And Bloodspam is still going strong! Roll my face across my keyboard for champ points and fame wooooooooooooooooo. >.<

Gogo PvE z-quests!

The Ritualist Update

You have not done enough for the rit!
Channeling needs a tweak!
Spirits, nice work making them worth my time!
Other than that, I still have no desire to play my rit pve!

Oh well, back to solo farming with him

Paragons and Rits are useful in PvP, Paragons are used alot in GvG now and Rits are used as support in HA and will probably be used as runners again now.

I would like to see more skill tweaks to rit spells, but as a first step, this is pretty cool.

Signet of Spirits is by far the best buff though, I can't help but think it'll get a recharge nerf or something.

Read the update, it's going to have a 20 seconds recharge.

Great update, definately move in the right direction... or at least it seems so on the first glance... but I haven't evaluated all the new buffs closely and there might be a new IMBA gimmick out there to win some pve even easier than before or completely dominate an area or two.

Nice.
No, you just need to learn how to spell.
A PvP Necro is spelled "Mesmer".
The same way that a PvE Mesmer is spelled "Necro".

I am not so sure that this will happen. Come back in one week and show me who is still running a Necro with Lingering Curse and Suffering. I wouldn't bother.

Weaken Knees indeed now rewards having a higher curses attribute, but the scaling still ends in -1 degen less and -6 damage. That is 20% and 38,5% less damage. For Necros this is a nerf.

Just for the sake of stopping the warrior W/N builds that were used in hexways?

O.o I will never understand the amount of moaning that goes on no matter what happened with the updates.

I for one have spent a very enjoyable morning with my long-neglected rit, because before this update I couldn't stand playing them. I'm also mature enough to accept that NOTHING will EVER be good enough in any game like this, and we're just lucky that we have it.

I agree. If anything, COP was a reason to go /me more than me/ in the first place.
Mesmers got nerfed in pve becasue other classes abuses mesmers skills, i don't understand why they can't bind CoP with fast casting the same way tntf or critical agility are bind with paras or sins primary atribute.

Because that would not fix issue of cry-spike. It would just make sure speedrunners roll mesmer.

It wasn't nerfed because it was abused by subclasses, it was nerfed because it allowed ridicolous fast clearing times, this won't change with linking the skill to Fast casting, there will always be people rolling mesmers just to 1 abuse the skill.
I honestly couldn't care less about people clearing DOA or Duncan in 15 minutes, as long as it doesn't affect my play style, Anet differs.

CoP now does MORE damage due to the degen damage, which doesn't stack. It isn't a nerf to a single mesmer using it in a balanced team. It's a nerf to a bunch of people echoing it and running team builds around it.

Maybe but speedrunners will prevail with CoP nerf, no doubt about it, while mesmers in pve alreardy have been pretty much useless, and nerfed CoP is still the best skill mesmers can take on their skillbars ( it sums up where this class stands in pve).

Exactly but it shows mesmers position in PvE, CoP is still the best mesmer skill in pve, but after nerf, other classes won't bother equiping it since they can come with something better.

On the other hand, people often already used CoP together with Ether Nightmare, which already has 7-8 AoE degen. CoP now just fills it up to the maximum of -10 degen.
